Lazy and lovin' it

Here are my gooober wooobers. Lying in the sun shining through the balcony door. It's 78 degrees in the apartment, but apparently it's too cold for them.Using your brother as a pillow is pretty darn cute.
I never get tired of watching them. I only wish I could get this comfy.

Gollum's an "only child" today

He's so ron-ree. so very ron-ree. Ok, so that's from "Team America." Tom and I are probably the only people who have seen that movie. We thought it was hilarious. So, Gollum loves Artimus far more than the reverse. In fact, I can't think of another time that they have been separated. Artimus lived with us for about a year before Gollum, but of course, Gollum has never been without the three of us. He's such a baby and looks to his older brother for everything. Gollum feels lost without Artimus. I took the trash out one time with Artimus and left Gollum inside. When Artimus and I came back into the apartment, Gollum was howling. He was so sad that we left without him. He was all over Artimus and barely looked at me when we walked through the door.
You would think he would love this chance.
Gollum gets all the attention today, whether he wants it or not. I think he's getting a little tired of me, but I never get this opportunity! Here we are driving home from the vet. Dr. Daniels is cleaning Artimus' teeth today, and dental cleanings are an all-day procedure. So, Gollum gets to ride in my lap on the way home instead of the cage in the back of the car. He loves to ride up front.
When we got home, I decided to give Gollum a treat. I ate most of the chicken from this bag, then gave Gollum the rest. He got his head stuck in the bag. Of course, I thought this was HIGH-larious!
Once I rescued him from the bag that was attacking his face, I gave him a big kiss. I think he kinda looks afraid of what the day will hold.
I love you Gollum! And I promise ... Artimus will be home soon.

Kids make ya tired

This is how Gollum and I ended up. We were sooooo tired. We had so much fun; laughed and played all day with the Kimble kids. Artimus and Gollum went from one adventure to the next. I loaded them up in the car at 8:30 am then we went to look at a new playground, then to a fishing pond, then to Green Valley park to feed the ducks.Karen, Jack, and Luke met us at Green Valley then after the ducks were completely stuffed we came back to our place in downtown Fort Worth. Jack made his "mansion" out of playing cards.
Then we went to the party room where Jack and Luke took turns hiding from the dogs. Once the dogs were too tired to even respond to their squeaky toys, we knew they were "done for." They collapsed around 4:30 pm.
It was a truly fun day, but even Artimus and Gollum couldn't keep up with the bigger boys.
Here are some photos from that super fun day:

Artimus and Gollum say "Thanks Jack, Thanks Luke! We had a great day! Come visit again very soon!"

Twins, twinkies

I arrived at my sister's house and immediately realized we were having an "off" day. Mark didn't say much of anything, and Leah was on the couch...not saying much of anything. I walked into the kitchen where my sister was slicing up an apple, and I thought "Wow"--she dressed Leah in the same outfit.I said "Awwww! That's so cute Danell, so do you dress Leah the same as you very often?" She was like "Huh, what?" It was a TOTAL coincidence, and I was certain that the mood would change. Leah would be sooooo happy that she was dressed the same as Mommy, right?
Ummm, not so much. Eventually, the smiles arrived. Leah and Mom being "twinkies." Very cute coincidence.
Thanks beautiful girls. I enjoyed taking some pictures of you. You should dress the same more often...except most of Leah's wardrobe is pink, and I know my sister's not a huge fan of pink.
But, today, you certainly are adorable. I love you Leah!

melissa

hi melissa

Hairy Legs

Gollum is happiest in my lap in the scorching Texas heat on our balcony.
Eventually, though, I have to put him down; he pouts; then he goes inside and sleeps:
However, Gollum generally leaves something behind for me to remember him by.

Ok, so if you look closely, you can see some very hairy thighs. I panicked at first and started to race to the shower and shave it off...Then I noticed, "hey, wait a hairy minute, here" That is black hair. Hmmmm. And Gollum was just sitting in my lap. Uh, oh, doggie hair sticking to me because of the humidity and heat. Gross! For a short-haired, barely-there dog, he sure does shed a lot. I guess maybe it's only when it's THIS hot outside.
Silly Gollum, my lap needs a "no vacancy" sign when it's so hot outside, and you need to be in the air conditioned apartment!

Gollum outdoors/Artimus indoors

I couldn't find Gollum the other day, and it was beginning to freak me out. When I finally saw his tiny black face peeking over the bottom of the window, I laughed so hard. I was so happy to capture the picture before he came inside to find out why I was making so much noise.I presume Artimus didn't want to share the rug? Maybe Gollum wanted to be even warmer? I'm really not sure why he was outside. He was looking inside. He wasn't chasing the birds off the balcony; he wasn't looking for food we may have dropped the night before. I was baffled.

All I knew was that it was very, very funny.
I didn't think it would last very long. They love the cozy comfortableness of the indoors...especially Gollum!
That's right... now this is more normal. They are positioned in the ray of sunshine on the INSIDE of the apartment. Now the planets are aligned once more. Everyone can relax.

Downtown moon

We had some very pretty clouds, but I really wanted to capture the moon when the clouds cleared up.Well, there it is; not so spectacular after all, but why not keep trying?
Yep, even less impressive.
This is not a picture of the moon. This is a picture of Sundance Square...no moon on 3rd St.
OK, THERE it is with a few cool clouds still lingering. Aw. Kinda cute.

Three Dog Bakery

This store bakes dog food and dog treats. The story behind this franchise made me cry like a sobbing hippo. Read the book "Amazing Gracie" if you're contemplating suicide and don't have the nerve to go through with it. It'll get the job done. Just let me say this, the dog food they make here will be eaten by any dog anywhere and happens to have healing qualities. It's miracle food for dogs. I love this place. The store in Southlake usually has several very large Mastiff puppies. Visit this place; it'll make your heart smile.

The Princess and the Pea

I went to my first children's play since i-don't-know-when...It was "The Princess and the Pea" starring Callaway! She played a dust bunny, and it made you smile for sure. We couldn't take a video, and they didn't allow flash photography, but I got a few pictures after the play ended.
Callaway practiced every day for several hours along with other actors, and she really did well.
I believe she made some friends, and I'm absolutely sure she had a lot of fun.
Her sister, Casey, brought some flowers to deliver to Callaway at the end of her performance. The picture below shows Casey waiting for Callaway to change out of her dust bunny costume.
From left to right: Whitney, Casey, and Callaway
Callaway had the cutest face paint and both the girls were sporting pink highlights in their hair. (I think they called them "streaks.") It was super cute.
Whitney's Mom supported her granddaughters, and I'm happy she let me take a picture of the three of them. Isn't that the sweetest picture ever?!
I had to get a picture with the girls too. Here we are leaving the big performance.
Thanks for inviting me to see "Princess and the Pea!" It was very sweet!
