Livin' the dream

Being around my friend Theresa is one of the most relaxing places to be.And now that I've been to her house, I can truly say she is living the dream.  Picture perfect home with the white picket fence to boot.
She has the greenest green grass, the happiest yellow lab, and the (insert superlative here) garden landscape.  It's just about as perfect as I've ever seen.  Of course, I'm not the one who is maintaining this nirvana, but she has managed to look cool as a cucumber while keeping it up.
She made us turkey/cheddar rye paninis then we sat on her porch while enjoying the picture perfect weather.
Theresa is a mother to three daughters, or four, if you count Roxie, the friendliest yellow lab on the planet.  I got my "big dog" fix being slobbered up by this sweet creature.

Thank you Theresa for such a peaceful afternoon!

First day in the pool

Thank you Whitney!I got to enjoy my first day in the pool with my friends Karen, Whitney, Casey, and Callaway.  And for an extra big boost of fun, Whitney let me bring Artimus and Gollum over as well!
Artimus thought he really wanted to join in the fun, but it was just a tad bit too scary...
Callaway and Casey helped me to get them accustomed to the water.  Little by little he became comfortable with the idea.  They kept holding him closer and closer to the edge of the pool, then moved into the shallow end and let him get his feet wet.  I couldn't resist getting some pictures, even if it meant holding my iPhone over the water...Yikes!
I don't think I got a single photo of Gollum, because he was so "OVER" it.  He clearly was not as enamored with the whole swimming and sunning idea as the rest of us were.  He tried to go inside every time someone opened the door.  He's not exactly a rugged outdoor-sy type.
Everyone seemed to want to interact with Artimus; he wasn't nearly as aloof as Gollum.
Thank you to Whitney and her girls for inviting us into their super cool home and making us feel so welcome.
Look!  I think that's Casey doing a handstand in the pool.  Her feet were out of the water!
This is Karen and I before we decided to start diving right in...literally!
And then finally... Artimus couldn't help himself.  He jumped right in.  Callaway  even got him to bark and growl at her goggles as she bobbed up and down in the water.  So funny!

I'm at the park waiting for boot camp to begin, and I'm happy to get my particular spot on the benches back. The new girls to our exercise class are unaware that some of us have staked out "territories"...and although it's not a big deal, I like my spot because it's usually in the shade and I'm directly facing the instructor. I'm so happy it's Friday! Yay for a nice long hot weekend. Summer is finally here, well not for another two weeks, but it is gonna feel that way. I get to see my sister and her kids today. That always makes for a fun Friday...then hopefully spend the evening with Tom playing cards on the balcony. YAY!

Brother Visits!

Daniel is my younger brother by about 7 years.
So far as I can remember he has never been over to visit, so this was pretty cool.  He helped me learn a few things about my Macbook.  Helped me hook up my printer, but primarily it was just a lot of sitting around and talking.
Tom and Daniel shared some similar interests....particularly people-watching and the joys of car accidents. (?)  I was a bit lost in these conversations, but that's OK.. I think it's a "guy" thing.
Daniel and I shared stories on our orthodontic experiences, and he got on his soapbox about flossing.  Tom and Daniel also have this in common...a weird obsession with flossing.  I admit, I have not found a way to enjoy being in my mouth any longer than absolutely necessary to brush.  But yes, Daniel, yes Tom, I know. Flossing is extremely important.  Thank you.

Lunch with Mom

Thank you for buying us Quiznos, Mom!
This is my first blog from my Macbook, so I'm a little slow, a little shaky, but so far it's been remarkably easy to set up and get going.  The only real problem I've been having stems from our cable modem.  It seems like I have to restart it each time I want to get on the Internet.
Oh well, this blog is about my lunch with Mom: so let's get to it.  Mom came over this past week and we took the dogs, the lunch, and went down to the Garden Terrace room, a.k.a. the party room.  It was a little too hot to eat outside, so we just ate indoors.
After we ate, we played with the dogs outside and took some pictures.  Mom, you look so good!  These pictures of you are incredibly cute!  I'm so glad you came over.  Let's do it again very soon.
It will be fun to invite Danell and the kids too.  I love you Mom!

Mom just stopped by for lunch and a visit. The dogs and me and mom went down to the party room to eat and goof around. We all had fun. I should have some good pictures to post. Tom just bought us two Macbooks! Woohoo! I should be blogging from a computer by Wednesday. Yay!
